Jerry Parker Math Interventionist Linden Middle School Jerry Parker is a retired teacher and after a year away from teaching and working with kids, he decided he wanted to get back into a school setting. He missed the interaction with students and helping them learn math. He is married to his wife Julie, and they live in Linden. He also enjoys boating and fishing. We are pleased to introduce the newest member of our team... Meredith Barton Biology Teacher Linden High School Meredith Barton attended Albion College and Eastern Michigan University. We asked why she decided to work in education and she said, "After I graduated from Albion I spent a few years figuring out what exactly I wanted to do. I knew I loved biology and science, but the pandemic really pushed me to figure out what I wanted to do-and education was always what I went back to. I stopped fighting and jumped in and I couldn't be more excited!" She also said she loves the idea of a small close-knit community. We are pleased to introduce the newest member of our team... Kristina Turner Playground Aide Linden Elementary Kristina Turner is a longtime resident of Linden and has children that attend here. She graduated from Linden High School in 2012. She has been married for almost 10 years and has two boys. They like dirt biking and riding their four-wheeler. We are pleased to introduce the newest member of our team... Olivia Taylor Intervention Tutor Hyatt Elementary Olivia Taylor joins the Linden Community Schools team on August 16th! We asked, "Why did you decide to work with students?" She replied, "When I was little, I loved learning so much that I made my siblings play school with me! I love helping students find a love of learning and they inspire me every day!" She is engaged to her best friend, Tony, and they have a very goofy cat. She has been married to her husband for 10 years and they have two boys, Max (age 8) and Banks (age 5). She also has a dog named Gus. She loves spending time with her family. Also, she enjoys spending time outdoors & traveling. She was a former teacher and has always loved helping kids learn and grow. She chose Linden because of the great community with opportunities to start a new program and grow professionally. She is married with four children, two dogs, and two lizards. Her interests include camping, spending time outside and at the pool, watching her kids play sports, date nights, and Law and Order SVU. She married her high school sweetheart and they have two daughters, ages three and one. She chose Linden because she lives in the community and her children will attend our schools. She said she has a passion for teaching. She loves making connections with kids and watching them grow. She loves to go camping with her family and her favorite place to camp is Benzonia, Michigan. She enjoys arts and crafts and spending time with her friends. Alisha Books Art Teacher Hyatt/Central Elementary Alisha Books earned a bachelor's degree and a master's degree while attending Baker, U of M Flint, and Oakland University. She has been married to her husband Matthew for nine years, and they have a son named Grayson, who will be starting kindergarten this year. She loves to run, read and go camping! Peter Gleason Athletic Director & LHS Assistant Principal Pete Gleason attended Aquinas College & CMU where he earned a master's degree in Educational Administration. He has been married for 30 years and has three wonderful children. His interests are sports, hunting & fishing, reading, and spending time with his family. Madeleine Welch 5th Grade Teacher Central Elementary Madeleine Welch earned her degree in Elementary Education from Central Michigan University. We asked, "Why did you decide to work in a school?" She said, "I decided to become a teacher because of the passion for learning I have. Being a learner in all aspects of my life has given me so much joy in everyday experiences and I cannot wait to share this passion with students!" She has three brothers and two loving parents. She loves the fall and sports. Her favorite hobby is shell collecting on the gulf coast of Florida with her mom.
